Jalsa is born to tackle the need to have real art educators, who see art as a means to educate, encourage and express.  At Jalsa we believe that visual arts have the power to enrich human experience and the society. All our programs are designed in order to promote art as medium to explore and express widely. We encourage students to develop critical-thinking skills, grow their self-esteem, and hone lasting collaboration tools. We believe that art is for everyone and we envision a world where everyone has complete and equal access to the arts both in school and in the community. We think access to highest quality arts is a basic human right and an essential component for a quality education. It all started in May, 2008 with five, young friends whose own artistic backgrounds show how arts shape a life. The first class was 10 eager students, and today, we reach more than 1000 children every year. It was our dream to instill in all children the love of the arts, inspiring them to become healthy, confident, productive, creative citizens. A dream to build a centre that would awaken the artistic potential of young people in a way that hadn't been done before. It was a dream to make a difference. What all we do ! We currently have three programmes in place running successfully with children. It has been widely appreciated by the parents and teachers of the concerned students. Talking about them briefly we have, Drawing and Coloring Programme which is designed step by step for easy learning for all age groups. The Craft Club is an exciting way to engage students in craft making, which helps them translate great art works into art using various mediums. One of the programmes we are really proud of is the Jalsa Within. Jalsa Within is one of a kind, value based programme wherein the students are exposed to some of the most important values like peace, compassion, love, forgiveness, kindness, honesty, and more through fun activities. Apart from programmes we have successfully designed & organized an education fair called Jalsa Mela and an Longest running art & craft fest in summers, named Sum Art Fest, where more than 500 participants learn & share their ideas. We have already conducted workshops at Schools, Clubs, Organizations & Corporates. In some cases we have also designed customized workshops depending on the age group. In the coming future we hope to build online channels that will make our tutorials accessible to all. We are also planning to design workshops to benefit creative professionals at various stages of their careers.
